Dear Art Families,
For 28 years, the Art Studio on the Boulevard has had the privilege of working with dozens of accomplished artists and teachers, hundreds of dedicated counselors, and literally thousands of incredibly talented and creative children and adults in our community. Their art work continues to amaze us daily!

In recent years, our little studio has confronted many challenges including the pandemic, the passing of Naomi, changes in property ownership, decreased space in which to learn and create, an increase in new local art programs, and dramatically increasing supply costs.
​
Unfortunately, the combination of these challenges has significantly affected the program's viability, so after much thought, the decision has been made that now is the right time to close our doors. This will also mean cancellation of our Mad Hatter Arts Camp summer program. The last class of our Spring semester will be on Thursday, April 25.

Meet the Teachers
Alyssa Diaz
​
Alyssa is a graduate of University of Houston with a bachelor's degree in Art. Her focus is on printmaking including lithography, intaglio, and relief printmaking. However, she also enjoys a wide variety of other art forms.
She has been teaching at Art Studio on the Boulevard since 2015. In addition to relief printmaking, she has taught many other courses from charcoal to 3-D sculpture.
Before teaching she worked as a printers assistant at Burning Bones Press where she assisted artists in executing their work using various printmaking techniques.
Eva Felder
​
Eva is a multilingual physiology researcher and teachers children and adults in both public and private schools. She worked at the Sofia Imbert Contemporary Museum in Caracas, Venezuela and currently teaches at Conmigo summer camps and Mad Hatter Arts Camp in the Heights. She has been an instructor at the Art Studio on the Boulevard since 2013.
She participated in the Houston Cow parade and her Hill Country Cow is displayed at CityCentre Shopping Center at the Beltway and Katy freeways.
Eva loves to experiment using different art mediums with children, as well as travel, write, and explore all genres of museums.
YuCha Pak
​
Yu Cha Pak was born in Korea and studied Classical Oriental Art in Seoul. After immigrating to the United States she continued her studies at the Florida Institute of Technology, receiving a degree in Fine Art. She also studied printmaking at the Art Students League in NYC and the Glassell School in Houston.
Her artwork has been accepted into numerous festivals and shows including several national juried exhibitions. Her honors include a First Place Prize in Watercolor in a New York city show curated by the Whitney Museum's Barbara Haskell. She has also been a frequent participant in Houston's Bayou Art Festival where she has been a Featured Artist.
She has embraced a wide range of media in which to express her artistic vision including acrylics, watercolors, clay sculpture, mixed media and printmaking, and has illustrated several children's books.
Lucy Riggs
Lucy has been teaching at the Art Studio on the Boulevard since the autumn of 2011. In
conjunction with the Art Studio, she has also taught art to preschoolers at the Esperanza School.
Before teaching art, she was an architectural illustrator for various architectural firms in Texas, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. In this career of almost 30 years, she had the opportunity to work on many diverse, interesting projects, built in the United States and all over the world. She has continued working as an illustrator as well as a portrait artist of houses, pets and people. Shown in the photo are drawings for the sketchbook covers she recently completed. She teaches workshops on different art materials and techniques and enjoys using a variety of dry media and watercolor for figure drawings and nature studies.
She gains inspiration and encouragement from her students and fellow teachers.
